MIKE
GLASSER website owner, founder
Mike has a long term relationship
with Rogers Park, having lived here at various times in
his life. While living here as a third year law student,
he remembers drunken nights at Biddy Mulligan’s
and hosting a couple of memorable parties that he, hypocritically,
now forbids his own tenants from having. Years later,
after completing his stint as a lawyer, Mike started investing
in apartment buildings in Rogers Park, and soon after,
did what many newly divorced real estate investors do:
he moved into one of his buildings. In 1992 Mike was one
of the founding members of the Rogers Park Builders Group,
an organization that he has headed since 1998, around
the same time that, on a whim, he reserved the web site
“Rogerspark.com,” which he has been developing
ever since. Mike is the proud father of three wonderful
children, Amy, Mitch and Ella, and serves as master to
his beloved dog Shorty (see below). He extends special
thanks to Karen Shaw, Charlie Didrickson and Calin Day
for their exceptional work, energy and vision that has
made this site possible. Contact Mike: mike@rogerspark.com |

Kelsey attends Loyola University Chicago. She is a Junior and enjoys
living the college life. Kelsey was drawn to LUC because of the diverse
surrounding neighborhood and interesting extra-curricular activities
Loyola has to offer. You can find Kelsey running around campus between
classes and student activities. She also frequents the streets of Rogers
Park while she is avoiding studying by riding her 1996 Green Shwinn
bicycle or skating by on rollerblades. Kelsey is actively attempting to
enjoy the richness that Rogers Park has to offer. Some of her
favorite places are coffee shops, art galleries, family owned businesses
and the lake. She enjoys meeting new people and learning their stories.
She is thankful to have the opportunity to build relationships with
people in the neighborhood and hopes to continue the adventures! |

SHORTY
rogerspark.com mascot Claims
to actually own the Rogerspark.com website. Owned by Mike
Glasser, this Shar Pei was actually abandoned in Rogers
Park, and, while being chased by some neighborhood youngsters,
sought refuge in the backyard of Village North owners,
Ron Rooding and Terry Sween. Shortly thereafter, Mike
adopted Shorty, and thanks to the sage advice offered
by BJ and Debbie Thomas (owner of Animal Affinity –
former Rogers Park pet store), found a dog food that completely
eradicated his foul odor. Shorty proudly boasts that he
has sniffed and pee’d on more trees in the RP community
than any other dog, or, for that matter, any cat or human
either. As a Glasser, Shorty extends deep gratitide to
his Rogers Park veterinarean, Dr. Kaz of Broadway Animal
Hospital for the extra caution used during nuetering,
and asked that we tell his RP buddy Jeanne S that he loves
her. |
