Angela Scalisi photography & mixed media

Angela Scalisi is a Chicago based artist originally from the Boston area. She graduated with a BFA in photography with a minor in printmaking from Massachusetts College of Art in Boston, Massachusetts in 1996. Angela's primary artistic focus is diabetic based; she often uses syringes, insulin bottles and other diabetic supplies to create photographic and mixed media art pieces. She is also an illustrator and creates artists' books. Angela currently co-owns and runs Eidolon Art studio in Rogers Park which offers a community darkroom, kiln-firing services and potters' wheel rental as well as clay and darkroom classes. She has exhibited her work in Boston, New York, and Chicago, and is currently working with Wisdom Bridge Arts Project developing a public art project in the Rogers Park area.
