 I
work with oils in a figurative style. American artists such as Reginald
Marsh, Isobel Bishop and George Bellows are among my influences.
Scenes from life; fast food restaurants, currency exchanges and
El Tracks are all grist for the mill. I seek to create a narrative
within the viewer and to encourage appreciation of small moments.
Art matters, people matter and if we can do good things- even just
holding a door open for someone- we should make the effort. As artist
and teacher Robert Henri wrote, "When you saw a thing and it
looked beautiful to you, you saw it beautifully."
