About Paula Heimrate  Paula Heimrate was born and raised in Riga, Latvia, where she developed her rudimentary talents in art. She began her formal education at the French Licee, Riga and then moved to the College of Art in Riga where she excelled in several subjects. In 1998, Paula moved to Chicago and continues studying art at the Palette and Chisel Studios in Chicago and Interior Decorating at the Illinois Art Institute. Now a Rogers Park resident, Paula's paintings have been displayed at the Palette and Chisel Student Art Exhibits and Ware in The World Gallery in Evanston. Paula's talents for art also expand beyond the canvas. She currently works as the Executive Artist for Highland Park based company, The ABL Group. Here Paula is specializing in decorative painting, which includes murals and other wall finishes. Further, because she possess an unbelievable knack for color, she is also responsible in assisting ABL's clients with their color selections.
Art, in a number of variety's and mediums, has always been a huge part of Paula's life, especially since her parents and grandparents are renowned artists from her hometown. "They have been my best critics and inspiration through life ... Painting for me is a necessity; it comes as a rescue, discovery or simply a joy. Possibilities in colors and textures fascinate me, there are no limits. I feel inspired by other art forms, nature, human relationships, animals and the unexplainable. Right now I am inspired by this beautiful and diverse neighborhood I live in." |
