Featured Artist • C.Drew

C. Drew - photographer/artist began exhibiting his work in St. Paul, Minnesota while teaching photo-art in the low income Summit-University community. At the Inner-City Youth League run by a nephew of photographer Gordon Parks, Chris found artists adding value to an urban ethnic community. This inspired him in 1987 to co-found the Uptown Multi-Cultural Art Center and has guided him over the years as the "Art of the T-shirt" summer exhibit series grew and evolved over a decade. ....

glenwood ave arts fest Artists of the Wall Festival is an annual event in June. Artists of all ages, skills and backgrounds will gather at Loyola Park between Pratt and Morse Avenues. Sections of the wall are marked off and “sold” to anyone and everyone who applies. Entry fees are $30 for a square. Application forms are available for adults and children, up until the day of the festivities. Adult artists bring their own supplies to do their work; a special paint-tent is available for children twelve and under. Whether you’re an artist or an art aficionado, come to Loyola beach. The Artists of the Wall Festival not only contributes to the yearly beautification of the break wall, but also bolster’s community activism and awareness. Residents of one of our most culturally diverse neighborhoods come together for a special weekend of celebration. They leave their mark on The Wall collectively -- as one community! more
