Some of the community-based efforts I have been involved in are:
  • Served as legislative aide to Alderman Mary Ann Smith (48th) in 1989
  • As member of State Representative Carol Ronen's nuisance abatement committee, changed state law to permit speedy eviction of drug-dealing residential tenants
  • As staff attorney for the Community Economic Development Law Project, worked with the City Corporation Counsel to transfer title of abandoned properties in Chicago to non-profit developers
  • Drafted legislative proposals to improve the operation of bars and nightclubs
  • Conducted field work and advised several aldermanic campaigns
