In approaching any commissioned portraiture, house or pet, I work very closely with the client to get the best idea of what qualities they are looking to depict. When executing a pet portrait, I work from photography, either existing photos that are provided, or my own. In the case of houses or other types of portraiture, I will often paint on location, weather and other conditions permitting. The painting is complete when I have satisfied my own standards for a work of art that can stand on it's own, as well as the client's satisfaction and approval.
