Where were you born and raised?
I was born in Berlin, Germany. I lived in Princeton, New Jersey for two years. My father worked at Princeton University. Then back to Berlin. In school, I focused on French and Biology. Later, I became Certified in Feldenkrais. The Feldenkrais Method is a journey of discovery of greater awareness through movement and observation. As you begin to learn to move your body differently and thereby your perceptions behaviors and shift.

What are you passionate about and how are you fulfilling your passion?
I love being in nature. Traveling, hiking with a backpack…to go where nobody else goes. Out in nature, I can let myself be in the present in the moment and. observe the beauty around me and within me. At Inner Metamorphosis University, we encourage ourselves and others to become more open and live more joyfully. We offer Feldenkrais workshops, other healing workshops, Yoga, meditative retreat opportunities, ecstatic dance, monthly hikes in to nature and weekly inspiration films. At Lake Side Café, we serve food that Jeffrey Tippen (partner and co-owner) and I like to eat. It is organic, vegetarian and tastes good.

Which five people (living or dead) would you invite to a dinner party?
Jeffrey Tippen(partner), Lena Samowski(Yoga Instructor at I.M.U. and friend),Uta Buechler(sister), Ariane Karbe(friend from Germany) and Hanne Buechler(mother)

If you had one month to live, how would you spend that month?
I would donate all of this to someone else. I would focus on three things: visit friends and family, be out in nature, and go on a meditation retreat.

What is something that you have learned about life?
I haven’t learned how not to complain, but I have learned that complaining doesn’t get you anywhere.

What do you like to stay home to do?
To be quiet…solitude. I like to sleep. I hardly ever do though….

What place in Rogers Park, past or present, has special meaning to you?
The lakefront, DevCorp North and The Lake Side Café and I.M.U.

What two establishments in Rogers Park besides your own do you tell your friends about?
Heartland and DevCorp North
