Read our interview with Chase Cleaner's owner, . Originally from Istanbul, Turkey, where, she says, " the food is fabulous. There are 40 recipes for eggplant. We are surrounded by four seas: the Mediterranean, the Black Sea, the Aegean Sea and the Sea of Mamara.". Hayriye says that her favorite part of running her business is "when customers come and drop off their clothes and stay for coffee and conversation. That is the best part of this business. I am very social."

In this fascinating story, Rogers Park sea kayaker Tom Heineman describes his experiences during his solo circumnavigation of Lake Michigan in 2006: "I really did enjoy meeting people on my adventure and see their reactions to me. Many asked, where did you come from? Some people were speechless when they saw me in a wet suit with my paddles and gear. I also liked being alone on Lake Michigan. I know I am a social being but I also appreciate solitude. In the Upper Peninsula for a couple of days maybe I saw one person a day. I may have been alone, but I had a lot of help. Friends and fellow Kayakers gave me tips, lodging and wonderful food along the way..."
