About Brian White

As Lakeside’s executive director, Brian White brings an innate curiosity about community development and a strong record of activism on behalf of communities and for social justice. Prior to joining Lakeskide, Brian was Director for Development and also Director for Community Relations at the Leadership Council for Metropolitan Open Communities, a nationally recognized fair housing organization. Brian was principally involved in advocacy, community organizing, leadership development, and fundraising.

Brian has developed numerous training programs, including workshops on fair housing, zoning and land use, and muncipal code enforcement. He has also worked with through the New Alliances Task Force, a project of the FDIC and the Mexican Consulate in Chicago, to create a model mortgage product for immigrants interested in purchasing homes in the US. That project has led to the introduction of dozens of new mortgage products across the country and to thousands of families being able to achieve the American dream of home ownership.

At Lakeside, Brian is responsible for developing programs, guiding advocacy efforts, and fundraising. Mr. White holds a master’s degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and is a resident of Rogers Park where he and his wife are raising 2 young children.
